What do you (or did you) enjoy most about being a traveler?

May 4, 2017

There are several benefits to travel. I enjoy seeing new areas of the country, meeting new people, and learning new things at each assignment. The increased income also helps to get student loans paid off quicker and to save for your future.

I enjoyed getting to grow as a physical therapist.  Right out of school there are so many aspects of the workforce that are unknown like what are “good” benefits, how to manage productivity standards, learning EMR systems, or how to talk to patients and other medical professionals with confidence. There are so many aspects of our career that we don’t learn in school or clinical rotations, but working as a traveler provides the time and experience to test the waters of different settings, treat patient populations you may have never been exposed to you, and most importantly figure out your preferences.
